This manuscript is usually referred to as the “Parker Chronicle” after Archbishop Matthew Parker (1504–1575), its first cutting-edge owner. The scribe whose work this font imitates wrote the chronicle’s annals up to the year 892, throughout the reign of King Alfred the Great.
